Abstract:

In this research paper, the history of Balochi short story has been discussed with their techniques and subjects of the time. By reading this paper, one will be aquatinted with the inception of Balochi prose literature, particularly the short story. Moreover, the major subject of this research paper is the short stories of Ghani Parwaz, who is considered to be a highly eminent short story writer in Balochi literature last four decades. The main points focused here about Ghani Parwaz’s short stories, are when he began his journey of penning down short stories, what developments he made during the last three to four decades and where he stands today. Furthermore, a major critical study has been written of his short stories, especially the symbolic short stories that have gained popularity in Balochi fiction.

Makran enjoys a distinct status in Baloch history; likewise, Panjgur is an integral part of the region. In the era of Hazrat Omar, Islam spread to Makran, and since then, different historians, writers, and researchers have cited Panjgur in their respective travelogues and works; these references are historically significant, capturing the essence of the land, people and culture. Panjgur is an ancient trade route; with a moderate climate, it produces multiple crops and works as a suitable market. Culturally Panjgur is deeply rooted in Baloch cultural nuances of art, music, and literature. Historically, for both agriculture and civilization, Panjgur is an Oasis. Writers and artists reflect the life and culture of any geographic location; therefore, there would not be a convincing description of Panjgur without mentioning such names. The article evaluates eminent writers, artists and poets representing Panjgur. The paper confines the study to prominent figures, including Izzat Panjguri, Mulla Ibrahim Kashani, Mirza Gul Mohammad Natiq Makrani and Mulla Wali Muhammad Mullazai.

In Balochi literature we can see severe instance where a gist of feminism exist. If we talk about Balochi Novel. It is read in a larger quantity than any other field of fiction. In Balochi novel a gist of feminism exist. Balochi novels are written various subjects which are composed of rural, urban, philosophical, and social subjects.

In all these subjects the character of woman exists in different forms. There is no during that the rule of women in Balochi society has a great importance. In this respect the idea of feminism in Balochi literature is indispensable. In this research paper the research of feminism is Balochi Novels is observed.

Discussion of Scriptorial and Orthographic Issues of Balochi

Balochi Language is written in Perso-Arabic script, which is why it has a number of
issues, which particularly pertain to the twelve-borrowed Perso-Arabic letters and their
phones used in Balochi writing system. Moreover, Balochi has hamza [ء], diacritic and vowels
related issue with this script. Because this script does not provide any other, particular, letter
or sign for the diacritics and vowels, due to which a number of ambiguous and identical words
are often mispronounced, misread and misunderstood.
This research paper discusses the hypothesis that the scriptorial issues of Balochi
language can better be resolved by adopting the Roman Script for Balochi Language or the
same Perso-Arabic script with reasonable modifications which should address the issues
pertaining to the issues of the borrowed phonemes, (glottal stops) sounds, the diacritics and
vowels. This research at the same time is historical, comparative and descriptive in nature.

Qurno and Nannorhaps Ritchieana

This land ‘Balochistan’ has witnessed the rise and fall of many cultures. Despite the rough and harsh geographical conditions, Stone Age men dwelled here and started cultural activities. These Cultural Activities started in Balochistan in Paleolithic times around 35000 B.P as the Paleolithic evidence has been in eastern Balochistan, southeastern Balochistan, and Suleiman ranges. Mesolithic evidence has been found in Zhob are, while the Neolithic cultural activities are not limited to only one region of Balochistan, they are found in all parts of Balochistan. The cultural activities do not end here, they continued later in Chalcolithic Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age until late historic times. The interesting thing is that even today, these cultural traditions after a time span of thousand years, are still alive and practiced in Balochistan. There is strong continuity between the early Paleolithic settlements and later historic settlements in the region. Some of these continuities may have occurred due to living in similar environments, but other continuities clearly reflect strong social and ideological cultural linkages. Through the critical study of continuity and change between early settlements and modern towns in Balochistan, I have identified many cultural patterns and traditions. Such two traditions are the use of Pebble Tools and Nannorhaps Ritchieana. Pebble Tools Pebble tools in Neolithic times have been used for indirect heating or baking bread shows the present tradition of baking ‘Qurno’ which is quite common throughout Balochistan. The Neolithic people used Nannorhaps Ritchieana or palm leaves to make nets probably for catching fish and basket molds for making pottery, similar techniques are applied even today in Balochistan to make all household objects.
